Obtained a B.A (Social Sciences) at the University of the North, Limpopo Province in 1973. Participated in and completed the Programme for Management Development (PMD) at the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA in 1992.
Initially worked as a Welfare Worker at Entokozweni Community Centre, Soweto until the late 70’s. Later he joined the Corporate sector rising to Senior Executive positions in Companies like Nampak, Herdbouys Advertising and Multichoice SA.
In 1997 he founded Village Management Consulting (Pty) Ltd, a Management and Research Consulting Firm, based in Sandton, Gauteng Province.
In 1999 he climbed on the BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) bandwagon with the formation of Kgorong Investment Holdings. As founding Chairman he marshalled the company’s growth into the new millenium, acquiring significant equity stakes in blue-chip corporations like Reunert,Total SA, Alstom SA and Primeserv Limited.
Letepe Maisela has held non-executive and independent directorships at various listed and non-listed companies such as Alstom SA, TOSACO subsidiary of TOTAL SA, PrimeServ Limited, Kgorong Investment Holdings, Institute of Directors(IOD), Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industries(JCI), and Parastatals such as Johannesburg Road Agency, Courier Freight Group a Post Office SA subsidiary and Trade and Investment Limpopo. Currently he holds Board Directorship positions in following companies: Reutech Limited, PrimeServ Limited, Moshate Technology Holdings, IFG Africa, and The National Arts Festival. He played and still plays a significant oversight role and strategic inputs in those Board positions. A lateral thinker, he is also an eloquent conference speaker.
